Those of you who know me, know that I love to get a good deal. And one of my favorite things to do is turning those good deals into blessings for others. When you can take care of your own family’s needs, as well as the needs of others, and save money doing it… well, that’s just a win, Win, WIN! And that’s what makes the #HungerHeroes program so special. You can fight hunger across the U.S.A., and in your own backyard. This week my family decided to spend one busy day doing just that.
We popped in to Sam’s for some of our favorites. Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, and Capri Sun sounded like just the easy meal we were going to need on this busy busy day.And since the Kraft Mac & Cheese 12 packs are non-perishable and such a great value, we decided to buy extra to donate.
My fellow couponer, Anna Marie, is always gathering donations for someone, so I decided to ask her if she knew an organization who could put all this yumminess to good use. Of course she knew just the place, and offered to take our donation to Northstar Church in Pryor, Oklahoma for their food pantry.
J-Bear got tickled because he didn’t realize he’d grown so much taller since last time he saw Anna Marie! LOL
We also took 10 boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese and 2 packs of Capri Sun to our own church to donate to the food pantry and youth camp. I was surprised and happy to find that the Capri Sun 40 pack actually had 4 – 10 packs inside. So I was able to keep a couple of our favorite flavors for my family and donate the rest!
When we finally got home my boy was STARVING – so I had to get those nuggets and mac & cheese ready in a hurry! Good thing they make such a quick and easy meal!
During the month of August, Tyson and Kraft will donate a meal for every Tyson Fully-Cooked Chicken Nuggets 5 lb. bag, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner 7.25 oz. 12-pack, or Capri-Sun 6 oz. 40-pack purchased at Sam’s Club. You get a great deal by shopping for your family at Sam’s Club, and you get to help others at the same time. That’s a good thing that everybody can do!
J-Bear loved getting to be a Hunger Hero this weekend! Do you have a kiddo who’d get a kick out of being somebody’s hero too?
