Back when J-Bear was just a baby, my friend Naomi first made this awesome sausage biscuit for me. I was immediately in love, and started making them for my family, brunch events, basically anytime that sausage was at all appropriate.

J-Bear was just a toddler, and when I told him that it was made with muenster cheese, he named them “Monster Sandwiches”. They are so simple to make.  All you really have to do is pop the biscuits in to bake while you’re browning the sausage patties.

Monster Sausage Biscuit Sandwiches
Recipe type: Breakfast
Here's all you need:
  • Grands! Homestyle Butter Tastin' Biscuits
  • Wright Brand Original Breakfast Sausage Patties
  • Sliced Muenster Cheese from the deli department
  1. Bake biscuits per package instructions. Turn oven off.
  2. Cook sausage per package instructions.
  3. Cut biscuits in half.
  4. Assemble sandwiches with one sausage patty and one slice muenster.
  5. Put back in still warm oven for about a minute to allow cheese to soften a bit.
  6. Serve warm.


I was so happy to find Wright Brand Sausage Patties at my local Sam’s Club.  They make this recipe even faster and easier.  I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time remembering to set my sausage out to thaw before I need it.  Then it takes lots of elbow grease (and a few bent teeth on my favorite knife) to slice it.  But Wright layers their presliced sausage patties between sheets of plastic, so that they are ready to use anytime I’m in the mood for them.

These biscuits are a great quick breakfast that you can make fresh in about 15 minutes.  Even better, you can freeze or refrigerate the leftovers for an even quicker breakfast on busy mornings.  I just heat thawed sandwiches for about 30 seconds in the microwave (adjust time for your microwave).  It doesn’t get any faster than that!  If I know that I’m making these to reheat, I often use a biscuit cutter to cut the cheese into a circle.  It makes them a little less messy and more portable.
