Though I hate to admit it, my J-Bear is growing up. I can’t believe we have just months before he’ll be getting his permit! We’ve been letting him “practice” a little (on our property only, not on public roads). And we’ve been contemplating what a new teen driver will mean to our auto insurance rates. We’ve been with the same company since we got married, so it was really time to review our policy and see if it was time for a change.
Recently, when we were shopping for new car insurance, we decided to give AutoInsurance.com a try. We knew of other sites that compare car insurance rates, but they seemed to all be run by an insurance company and we weren’t sure we could trust them to give us accurate quotes for their competitors. That’s where AutoInsurance.com is different. It’s a first-of-its kind, independently operated one-stop-shop site that empowers consumers to quickly search, compare and purchase auto insurance, saving time and money online. Consumers can retrieve their current auto insurance policy information and compare it apples-to-apples with carrier quotes offered on AutoInsurance.com.
It was so easy to get our quotes! There were so many time saving features built in. They could pull some of our info from Facebook if we wanted. They could pull our current policy information, too. And quick as that, we had quotes from five different companies, most of which were cheaper than our current policy. We could also easily see how we could adjust our policy coverages up or down and how that affected our rate. We could buy the policy right from that page, but there was no cost for comparing and no obligation to buy. We decided to wait a bit since our current policy won’t expire for over 2 months, but we know now that we have options, and that they can save us some big bucks!
One day this week, J-Bear asked if he could “practice” a little, and I took the camera along to catch some of the fun! Mr. Fix It spent a little while explaining the gauges and how to adjust the mirrors before they set out.
Since he doesn’t have his permit yet, we only let J-Bear drive on our property. It’s been pretty rainy lately, which would normally mean no driving on the grass, but we decided to bend the rules and have some fun in the mud.
After they ran through a few maneuvers, it was time to head back to the garage. The smile on Mr. Fix It’s face just seems to say “Whew! We Survived!”, doesn’t it?
Now let’s have some real fun! I think our favorite part about the Camaro is how great it is at…
doing donuts!! It’s worth tearing up a little grass to do donuts in the Camaro.
If you have teenagers, it might be time for you to review your auto insurance policy, too. Why don’t you give AutoInsurance.com a shot?
At this time AutoInsurance.com is only fully functional for residents of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
